What Is Diabetes? Learn The Pathway To Improved Healthy Life

Hi, I really want to share an important post with you today and it has to do with one dreaded disease that is spreading like wildfire among the people and I believe giving more insights into what the disease is all about is highly essential to guide against more people contacting this disease. This disease is called Diabetes.  This post is very important because it is the introductory aspect of one book I am writing on Diabetes and I believe everybody has one or two things to gain from getting this book. This book will be launched soon. The introduction of the book goes thus:

With diabetes moving towards being an epidemic today, it is highly essential that you know exactly what the disease is all about. And, why is that? Well, this is for no other reason than to prevent you from contacting this disease! It is deadly especially, if not detected or controlled in time.  Having a better understanding of this disease is highly important to live a healthy, purposeful and better life.

In layman terms, “diabetes” is the inability of the body to process sugars properly. This is a disease that is known to be affecting quite a large number of people in both the developed and undeveloped nations of the world. With the world’s population at an all-time high in weight gain and low in health care delivery in some countries (developed countries inclusive), the problems associated with diabetes is growing at an alarming rate. Diabetes is a disease of the metabolism. Our metabolism is defined as the way our bodies make use of digested food for energy and growth.

Most food processed through our bodies is broken down by digestive juices into a sugar called glucose. Glucose is the fuel our bodies run on. And, anytime we eat, and our food is processed, the pancreas is supposed to produce the right amount of glucose from our blood automatically and release the right amount of insulin into our blood.

When we eat or drink, our “pancreas” produces a hormone called “insulin”. Insulin is released into the blood and helps to regulate the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. Diabetes is a condition where this process does not function correctly.

However, in people with diabetes, little to no insulin is produced or the body’s cells don’t respond correctly to the insulin that is being produced. Therefore, the glucose builds up and overflows into the urine and passes out of the body. This is how the body loses its main source of fuel even though the bloodstream contains good amounts of the natural glucose.

The reason why diabetes occurs is because no insulin is being produced (often called Type 1 Diabetes) and requires the sufferer to use insulin injections, or insulin is produced but the body becomes resistant to it. This renders the insulin ineffective. This is normally called Type 2 Diabetes and is rapidly becoming more common.

A Healthy Lifestyle: What You Need To Know For Improved Living

Do you want to know what you need to do to enhance a healthy living you have been craving for? This article is written purposely to show you the right steps to take if you really want to change your life for the better.  The modern age and all the intricacies associated with it have indeed made it quite extremely easy to neglect our wellness and health without even noticing the type of disservice we are doing to ourselves. We seemed to be busy throughout the day racing through our day to day lives – family, friends, work, and social engagements – that we don’t for once take time to look after ourselves. This manifested in the way we go about our routine lifestyle and through this some of us appeared tired and run down. Then, the question is “what are some simple things that you can do to improve your quality of life?
1.  Eat Only What Can Add More Nutrients To Your Life: Our daily life has always been subjected to eating of highly processed food and this has contributed in no small ways to the rate at which we consume so much impurities into our body system. Reports have shown that heating food above 116°F destroys much of the nutrient contents in such foods. Some nutrients are processed out of some foods we eat nowadays and some don’t even care to know the type problems this might cause for our body system.
And, at the same time some of us aren’t eating enough veggies as being prescribed by the nutritionist for effective living. This on the other hand constitutes a substantially eating problem. It is noted that Nutritionists recommend five serves of fresh vegetables per day. How many of us are actually taking that advice?

Remember, a great way to get the nutrients found in fresh veggies without spending all day at stove or eating raw celery sticks is to juice your veggies. Ensure that you get a good juicer because some juicers expose vegetables to heat created by friction during juicing, which breaks down important enzymes especially those nutrients that are beneficial to the body. Ensure to grab some fresh vegetables and drink your way to good health. However, the amazing part of this is that it takes just a fraction of the time to get it prepared and doesn’t even involves cooking at all and can equally be prepared at your own convenient time.  Lastly, you stand the chance of taking your juice to work and can even give some to the little ones for school lunches!

2.      Drink Some Cup Of Water But Do Away With All Forms of Alcohol: It has been proven scientifically that drinking a lot of water on daily basis can save you a great deal to enhance food digestion as well as sending out of some impurities from your body. Think about it for a second: The human body is known to be composed of 72% water. A 5% drop in fluids creates a 25-30% loss in energy while a considerable drop in fluids up to about 15% can cause death! And the agonizing part of this is that 66% of us aren’t drinking enough water that can help them live a healthy lifestyle. So, more than half of the world population isn’t running on all six cylinders for effective living. You need to have a better understanding of the negative impacts of bad air, bad food and stress can have on your life, especially if you want to live a healthy lifestyle without being subjected to any form of illness. You also need to know that it’s not all that difficult to remedy this anomaly. Just ensure that you change your disposition towards drinking of one glass of water every half hour or so, or presumably you can try to take between 10-12 glasses of water per day. As you do this you’ll notice a huge jump in your energy levels and will be more invigorated to carry out your daily activities without complaining of getting tired more often.

3.

Taking Part in Daily Exercise: Exercises have always been prescribed as major contributors to healing process of some terminal diseases and has been proven to be of highly beneficial in the treatment of such diseases or illness. Though exercise is another dirty word for most of us because of the inconveniences we might be experiencing while doing it, but the most important reason why we have no other option than to exercise our body is that, it is a life saver. You need to bear it in mind that exercise doesn’t have to be horribly time consuming or mind-numbingly and boring. There are quite a number of options you can choose from especially after you might have studied yourself purposely to know which type of exercise is ideal for your body system. In the times past gyms usually offered weight rooms, aerobics classes and maybe a tydro-circuit to whoever wants to carry out one form of exercise or the other. However, there are more options available for you to choose from such as water aerobics, yoga, Pilates, step classes and a whole range of new workout options to choose from.

However, if you don’t really have the time or money for the gym, or prefer to spend your mornings/nights at home, then you can try an exercise bike or walker. At times you may even be physically unfit or tired and this can make it a mammoth battle to just do the most minimal amount of exercise in a day. The danger associated with this is that inactivity for a long time can lead to further loss of energy or ability to carry out any form of exercises. This may become a self-perpetuating cycle until you can barely get off the couch.

An excellent way to get back into a physical routine is to start slowly. Ridiculously slowly, it may seem. For the first couple of weeks, walk/ride for 5 minutes per day – exactly 5 minutes, no more, even if you think you could continue. If you are able to do this for 2 whole weeks then you can increase to 7 minutes, then 10 minutes, 12 minutes… and on and on like that. Just try as much as possible to gradually increase your activity level until you’re at a level that you’re more comfortable with and that nothing can make you stop what you are doing. Another thing you need to know is that as you are starting out your body system may feel disjointed but the simple truth is that the only thing that can solve the problem for you is not to stop. DON’T STOP!
It may sound a little silly, but it works. In effect, you trick your body into producing more energy. You’re building your exercise time up so slowly that your body doesn’t really realize what’s happening. Follow this method and, before you know it, you’ll be comfortably exercising within your limits every day. And you wouldn’t regret doing this.

Yes, that’s just the basics of what you need to know for an effective and enduring healthy lifestyle. If you can rearrange your life a little to allow for better eating habits, drinking of more water and a little exercise in a day, you’ll be well on the way to living a healthy life.

In conclusion, cultivate the habits of taking some quiet time for yourself to meditate. Meditating is an excellent way to minimise stress. You don’t have to sit around for hours, just give yourself 5 minutes of quiet time every day – even in the shower, if that’s the only place where you can get time out – and have a little catch up with yourself.

You have to remember that a healthy lifestyle is an option you can decide to choose if you want to live your dream life that is devoid of all form of tiredness or sickness. Choose to be healthy and live healthy. It’s your choice.
